Mark was born and raised in the City of Champions: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. His interests include: reading, writing, drawing, painting and woodworking. When he's not framing houses, he can be found wrestling for Monster Pro Wrestling, a local independent wrestling promotion or in front of a photographer's camera.  Twice, he has been a contestant in the Mr. Romance pageant at the RT Booklovers Conference -- in 2005 and 2007.  He has featured several times in nationally televised news magazine pieces on romance novel cover modeling.  He currently lives in Edmonton with his wife, novelist Tracy Cooper-Posey; his four children: Terry (18), Matthew (17), Kate (16), and Ashley (14); and their two cats: Merry and Pippin.

What do you hope for in the future?
I first entered the Mr. Romance pageant at age 40.  My first professional wrestling match came just after I'd turned 41.  In the future, I'm going to continue to challenge the age barrier -- that societal notion that says once you reach a certain age you can't (or aren't supposed to) do this, that, or the other thing.  I'm going to do this, that and the other thing all at the same time.

How important is beauty in your life?
I think beauty is important in everyone's life.  But without love, beauty's importance fades.  Ever seen the love of your life with a blob of whip cream on his or her nose?  The face of your child during a moment of triumph?  Each of those is, in a word, beautiful.  And some Hollywood starlet in the latest fashion doesn't even compare.

How do you feel about the fashion world?
I'm not terribly impressed with it, actually.  When they start to cater to the "regular people" instead of the "pretty people" and there are models on the runway that are not rail-thin and impossible to emulate, I’ll start to pay more attention.  Until then...

Do you like sports? What is your favorite sport?
The only “sport” I've ever been into is wrestling.  Professional wrestling.  As a matter of fact, I wrestle as “Mr. Intensity” for a company in Alberta called Monster Pro Wrestling.  Other than that, I don't watch sports on TV and I don't play any sports, either.

What would you say is your favorite part of your body?
My arms.  They're strong and they give great hugs.

Where have you, or would you like to travel to?
I've always wanted to go to Kenya.  The wildness of the countryside, where nature is at its rawest and most basic has always appealed to me.  Imagine standing amongst great herds of wildebeest, giraffe, and elephant; seeing a pride of lions snoozing under an acacia tree or a cheetah streaking across the open plain after a gazelle.  Oh, wow...

What characteristic(s) do you admire most in people?
Acceptance.  People who allow you to just be yourself.  I believe if you love someone -- whether they're your friend, your family, or the love of your life -- your goal is to help them become all that they can be.  What better way to enable that process than to simply accept them for who and what they are?

Are you a romantic?
Hmmm... that's a difficult question to answer.  I like romantic movies -- Notting Hill, While You Were Sleeping, Bridges of Madison County.  I read romance novels and I have lots of friends who are romance novelists.  I have been known to organize the occasional special night out; but, I'm not into candlelit bubble-baths and I've never scattered rose petals over my lover's bed.  So, I guess my answer would be... sort of.

What are some of your favorite things?
On Sunday afternoon, I love to snuggle up on the couch with my two cats, Merry and Pippin, and snooze the afternoon away.  Cats are such sensual and affectionate creatures.  Their contented purring lulls me to sleep faster than anything.

Final Thought
Two, actually -- both in regards to following your dreams, whatever they may be.  Always remember, you haven't failed until you've quit.  And, you never know what's just around the corner.

Further Works
