You don't want to miss reading this author that seems to be able to do it all well. Part-time writer, full-time quality assurance engineer with a Bachelors degree in biomedical engineering and a Masters in Information Technology. Plus a being Mom to a very precious new baby girl. So take the time to check out Stripped, an edgy paranormal with...bite.
BYS: What went Between the Sheets of this book? Either what was happening in your life when you wrote it, or what was happening with the book as you wrote it.
MC: I was thinking about starting a family. It wasn't an easy choice to make because there were a lot of factors against me. But in the end, everything turned out fine and I have my precious little diva who has fallen asleep in her baby bouncer as I type.
BYS: Where did you find the idea to write this novel?
MC: This is the prequel to Half Breed. After having so much fun writing that book, I have always wanted to write the story of how my half-wolf and her full-blooded husband got together. Stripped is the result of that.
BYS: How long did it take to develop your characters for this book?
MC: Not long at all. See #3.
BYS: Why this story at this time?
MC: Not sure. I've been toying around with how those two would meet and decided to go with the most outlandish story I could think of. Everyone always has dreams where they find themselves naked or partially nude on stage. It's horrifying. So, I decided to make it real for my heroine and had to come up with a story about how that might have happened. Given my heroine's nature, stripping on stage is something she'd never do. However, if it was against her will, then that was a possibility.
BYS: Are you a visual writer? Do you see scenes and characters in your head? Or do you hear the characters voices?
MC: I have movies playing in my head whenever I write. I hope that what's in my brain transfers into my pages. The hard part is writing the details. My thinking process goes something like ignore the unimportant stuff while concentrating on the imperative stuff. Sometimes what I see as unimportant, others don't. It’s hard to "untrain" your mind to think like that when you’ve been like that for a long time.
BYS: What are your thoughts on First Person verses Third Person? Which is your preference?
MC: First person for my urban fantasies and third person for my paranormal romances.
BYS: What is your re-writing and editing process? Do you let anyone read your work in progress before it goes to your editor?
MC: I write a story, then leave it alone for at least a month. After that, I go back and reread it with a fresh eye. I used to work with a crit group/partner, but I find that I don't have enough time in the day to read their stuff and write my own. What I need is a good beta reader. If you know one, let me know. ;-)
BYS: What keeps you going and motivated when life throws you a curveball?
MC: Curveballs can't kill me. Sure, they can do some damage to the psyche, but in the end, I'll survive. Tomorrow is another day and another battle to fight. I put on my boxing gloves and go right back into the ring.
BYS: Were you an avid reader as a child? What did you like to read?
MC: No. I hated reading. The only thing I'd read is my mother's National Enquirer or the TV guide.
BYS: What are you working on now?
MC: I'm working on the sequel to Stripped. I had a title, but it'll give too much away in terms of the big black moment. So, I have to find a new one. Also, I plan to start a new paranormal romance series at some point that involves chameleon characters.
