Something Reckless Review
Something Recklessby Jess Michaels
Release Date: April 22, 2008
Jess Michaels has penned another winner in this hot historical about a good girl who discovers how seductive bad can be.
Lady Penelope Norman has begun a battle against the wanton habits of the so-called gentlemen of the ton, and they’re fighting mad. Suddenly their pliable, docile wives have turned into women with a spine who are demanding, of all things, respect and fidelity! Penelope is both an outcast and a savior. She never asked for these roles, but she truly believes that women have the right to more than society and their husbands offer them. When she won’t back down, one group of men decides to take action.
Jeremy Vaughn, Duke of Kilgrath is part of a group of titled men who call themselves the Nevers, as in never will they marry. Since his younger brother fell in love and succumbed to matrimony, he has been feeling strangely restless. Perhaps the chance to seduce and compromise this interfering crusader will provide the spark he needs to reenergize his life. He’s quite certain that beneath her modest gowns and lofty ideals beats the heart of a passionate lover. He is eager to expose her, in any way he can…
Penelope believes Jeremy has joined her cause, but every moment they are together sizzles with the anticipation of unfulfilled passion. What begins as a deliberate seduction becomes an exercise in learning the true meaning of love, and giving everything you have to make it work. These are wonderful characters who take the reader by the heart and don’t let go until the final page. The book goes by so quickly you are left wishing there was more. The intense heat fits in beautifully with the passionate nature of a relationship that Ms. Michaels develops in an emotionally moving and intricate plot. This is one you don’t want to miss!
