Uthiel's Embrace Review
Uthiel's Embrace Uthiel's Embrace
by Rae Lori
Release Date: March 11, 2008

This sweet and enchanting tale chronicles the adventures of the very noble human Prince Nikolas of Lambert, and the ethereal beauty of the water spirit, Uthiel. Prince Nikolas is torn between duty to his family and subjects, and exploring this magical and forbidden relationship. Uthiel also has duties to family, but rebels when she feels they are keeping her from the true longings of her heart. She does not want to be a sacrifice to the gnomes in order to keep peace in the hierarchy of the forest.

Reminiscent of a mystical Romeo and Juliet, these star-crossed lovers must deal with prejudice and misunderstanding before they will be allowed to find happiness. The forest takes on it’s own life, each element part of a thinking and feeling world. Humans and forest creatures are shown at their worst and their best. Will the forest deem Lambert worthy of Uthiel, or be his death?

Rae Lori has penned a short but satisfying tale that is truly romantic. The characters are fascinating, and the young lovers quickly steal your heart. The forest imagery is alternately beautiful and chilling. It holds us captive as we are continually intrigued by the nicely woven details of the plot. An great choice when you want a taste of magic and romance that you can finish in one setting, like a delicious dessert.
